I am a huge fan of this type of modern crochet and have already
hooked a few of my own variations of these projects. Therefore I
was slightly worried that there would be nothing new for me to
learn? I was wrong, there are new and fresh designs in the book as
well as all the usual pots and basket storage ideas. I am inspired
to hook up the shopping basket/tote bag and make some more large
plant holders...hmmmm Nice! Dedri also includes some invaluable
info on making your own t-shirt yarn with measurements on how much
you will need... Full review and images:

16/12/15 This is a book about crocheting with a difference. Dedri
Uys shows 25 projects on how to create things for the home and
small items to wear simply by using lengths of fabric cut into
strips. These can be made of recycled material making this an eco
friendly activity. There are clear instructions at the back of the
book showing you how to create your own strips, what size hook you
will need, the stitches used, how to change your yarn colour and
how to finish off. Each stitch is explained in colour photographs
that are easy to follow. Important advice is always in coloured
panels. The projects are beautifully presented and sure to tempt
those who love crochet work and willing to try a new aspect of it.
As in all Search Press craft books the instructions are clear and
precise as it is no surprise that this publisher keeps winning
awards for its craft books. They make the reader eager to try
things and to create their own projects and follow those given

This book has 'big hit' written all over it. Recycle and crochet
equals great new household, durable objects. Breathe new life into
tired old t-shirts and fleece fabric. Quick and fun to do. Minimum
equipment and techniques. From jewellery to storage boxes, bags,
mats and tablet cases, this book has all the up-to-date accessories
for modern living. I love the circular mats and the storage boxes
as well as the heart-shaped boxes. These contemporary projects are
useful.
